The DSA Dog Caucus put out a call for graphic designers to make fundraising swag. I designed a bandana and shirt, and with the help of other awesome volunteers, we raised $1700 for the Yellow Hammer Fund to provide abortion access in Alabama.
I designed another image for East Bay Forward. This time, it’s YIMBY beavers for the YIMBYtown conference. Beavers are already nature’s engineers. Are they nature’s best neighbors, too?
As a lurker on the East Bay Forward list, I’ve been following the “Mammoth In MacArthur”* project. I was in Barcelona when they put out a call for a t-shirt design. Last month I joined Digital Democracy, an Oakland-based nonprofit that brings technology to indigenous communities in South America to protect their land rights and fight climate change. I’ve joined for a little while to advise them on how to grow their team. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds.
This past month, I lent a graphic hand to the good folks at the engine room to turn out two microsites.
Because it seems like there’s no shortage of terrible things to organize against, and only so much time to do it, I joined SpaceDog this week to build a microsite for Ultraviolet about anti-abortion terrorism.
This past week, I flew to Berlin to throw down with the Refugees Hackathon.
